A few weeks ago, I did a post on Christmas elves,
so now it's time to feature their more feminine counterparts...
the angels.
There are two kinds of vintage angel ornaments out there.
Some are painted and glittered spun cotton like these two
candle and Christmas tree bearing soul sisters...
and others are like these three made from foil paper cones.
Peak under their skirts and they tell their stories.
Research says many were made in Japan during the 1930s-1950s.
While others, like these maraca shaking twins...
are from West Germany - made as early as the 1920s.
Now all are members of one big happy family
who spend one month a year hanging around my house.

Lemon tree very pretty, and the lemon flower is sweet-
But the fruit of the poor lemon is impossible to eat.
